Gaslighting
Let's talk about gaslighting at its' best! My ex was a master of the gaslight. For example, when we all put apple find friends on our phones I started to notice that about an hour before he came home from work it would show him at the end of our street at the apartment complex located there. It was oddly consistent. I questioned him on it and he attributed it to a glitch in the apple software. Said he was at work and my oh my how odd that was. Then he'd point out that when my child was two houses down at their friends house it showed her at the other end of the street. This was true so I ignored it. He was so convincing that I blew it off. That is, until I spent a week at Vivi's house and on the way to the airport checked the Life360 (that I put on the child's phone as she was driving now and I needed to know where she was. Why wouldn't her father want to know as well? He, of course, fought having it installed) app and it showed he was there every single night I was gone for hours on end.
While at the airport I googled a name that had kept coming up on his social media and to my stomach dropping shock saw that where he was was at that address. I didn't want to believe the proof staring me in the face. That this woman he swore wasn't anything to him was where he spent the weeknights while I was away. After stewing on this information on the flight home I immediately confronted him with my newfound knowledge. He, of course, swore it wasn't true, he spent the evenings with a friend that lives there and that from what he knew about this Whore (that's what she is, face it, it's true) was that she lived somewhere north of us. Oh, this man is GOOD with his lies and obfuscations. Just a master really. And truth be told, I just didn't want to face that the man I've been with for almost 30 years was a lying sack of shit that was cheating on me. Who wants to face that?
